Tattoo Savage Magazine

Tattoo Couture is taking Manhattan by storm! This months Tattoo Savage features the Grand Opening of the Friday Jones 5th Avenue at the Senses Salon. The chic, zen like tattoo experience here will be like no other and is breaking through the normal "traditions" of a tattoo shop.

I had the pleasure of attending the event as a body artist providing her guests with temporary tattoos for those who just wanted to have fun for the night. You can see me turning out a temp tattoo on page 64!

I am now a tat-tern for Ms. Jones, ready to start permanent tattoos early January 2010!!!

Airbrush Action Cover Story

The November/December 2009 cover of Airbrush Action issue just hit stands featuring my latest Airbrush Tattoo tutorial. W DC Hotel Event

The luxurious W Hotel in Washington D.C reopened with a grand event full of celebrities, political officials and musical performance by John Legend. Our team lead by Key Makeup Artist, Min Min Ma, used the dramatic influence of the grand hotel into the makeup of the models and performers. Using a modern rendition of a 18th Century French Palace, I painted the intricate detailed patterns of lace onto the "Painted Ladies". We enjoyed the rest of the night on the elegant roof top viewing all of Washington D.C. Visit this exquisite 5 star hotel if you ever are in our nations capital.

Fashion's Night Out

Fashion's Night Out is a global initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence and celebrate fashion! Temptu and Sephora had a special event for that night to recreate some of the most memorable makeup and body art looks in fashion and movies.

I had the honor of recreating the famous Italian Vogue tattoo story in the Sephora store front window on 5th Avenue. It took about 7 hours to recreate the entire look from makeup to covering the models body from head to toe in tattoos.

Another recreation of mine was also in the other window and greeting visitors inside.

This was a Global Fashion Celebration and a wonderful night to remember!

September Issue of Interview Magazine

The latest issue of Interview Magazine has been released with a tattoo story featuring Chace Crawford from the hit TV show, Gossip Girls. I had the pleasure of tattoooing Chace along with makeup artist, Mark Carrasquillo to bring out the dashingly good looking bad boy. I think James Dean would have had some serious competition. W Magazine Brings It!

W magazine is one of my favorite fashion editorials and I recently had the honor of being a part of their private company party with the fierce theme "BRING IT".  Eric Krevat, Special Projects Director, requested unique tattoos for this special night.  I had custom "BRING IT" tattoos made by Temptu and adorned the guest with the theme for the night along with additional edgy tattoos. What a fun night with W!

I finally became a member of the Freelancers Union!  A program that offers insurance, discounts, gigs and general information to help support the modern day Freelancer.  Everyday options available while advertising you and business. 

Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry

Before there was Ed Hardy, Miami Ink or Kat Von D, there was the God Father of tattoos...Sailor Jerry.  This amazing sailor was light years ahead of his time and paved the way for many that are tattooing today.  The much-anticipated "Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry" film is finally coming to New York for a screening on June 24th at 7pm at Tribeca Cinemas.  There is limited seating so be sure to RSVP to save your spot.  

Skin and Bones

As of April till January 2010,  the exhibit "Skin and Bones, Tattoos in the Life of the American Sailor"  will be up at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia.  Filled with historic photographs, artifacts and tattoo related art, the exhibit dives into the importance, the power and the depth of tattoo history in American maritime culture.  I plan on making a special trip to see the show.  

NYC TATTOO CONVENTION 2009

My favorite time of year has come around again, the NYC Tattoo Convention at the Roseland Ballroom, May 15-17th.  I got some great tattoo gear and made some new friends with really good advice.  The place was buzzing and the ink was flowing.  I can't wait for next year!

Sony's live "mannequins" will be introducing the new and sexy VAIO P-Series Lifestyle PC  all over NYC over the next 2 weeks.  Key Makeup Artist, Miriam Azoulay has asked for my expertise in giving these girls the perfect flawless skin.  Armed with my airbrush gun, my team member Anne Kohlhagen and my favorite Temptu Silicone makeup, we brought these living dolls to life!  Catch the NYC sightings of the Sony "mannequins" at the hottest spots in Manhattan including NYC's Fashion Week.
